This is our recipe for a pizza type dish using meat for a crust. It’s very meaty but does satisfy that craving for pizza.
We started off by cooking a couple pieces of bacon in our cast iron skillet. The one we use is a pretty large one, the largest Lodge Cast Iron pan regularly available at Target and Wal-Mart. It’s either 12 or 13 inch.
Our Process for the ‘Meatzza Crust’
3/4 lb ground meat, seasones $ flattened and pushed to the edge of the Cast iron.
We push it out in the cast iron at about 1/2 in thick, cooked it in the oven at 375 for 10 minutes. Then we drained the juice out of the cast iron and flipped the ‘crust’.
Our Paleo Pizza Sauce from Scratch
8oz Tomato Paste
2tbsp Balsomic Vinegar
1/2 cup water
1/8 cup olive oil
1-2 cloves Fresh Garlic
Seasoned to taste with:
We put this all in a small pot and cooked it to bring out the flavors of the herbs.
Topping our Meatzza

Once our meatzza crust and sauce was made we took spoons of the sauce, and pepporoni and layered them. We used large pepperoni and completely covered the meatzza in 2 layers with sauce between layers. On top was another layer of sauce that we then then put our veggies into. We used purple onion and bell pepper (yellow and green).
Once all of that was on the pizza we mixed 1/4 lb of ground meat with the rest of our sauce and topped our meatzza with it.
The last part was putting the meatzza into the oven for about 10 minutes to get the veggies and pepperoni cooked. We put in on broil at 475 for this part.
